Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated Patient Care Technician (PCT) to join our healthcare team in a fast-paced emergency department setting. The PCT will support nursing staff by delivering high-quality care and assisting with essential clinical and administrative tasks. This role is ideal for candidates passionate about direct patient care and who thrive in dynamic hospital environments.
Responsibilities:
Greet patients and verify identification and wristbands
Assist with admission, physical examinations, and procedures
Perform blood draws (IV or capillary) across all age groups using proper technique
Perform electrocardiograms (EKGs) as directed
Ensure equipment is clean, functional, and available
Support patient transport as needed
Assist patients with meals and feeding if necessary
Maintain inventory and restock supplies
Prepare rooms for new admissions
Deliver hygiene care including bathing, toileting, oral care, and bed making
Obtain and record vital signs, patient weights, glucose fingersticks, and intake/output
Promptly respond to call lights and report any patient status changes to RN
Communicate effectively with patients and caregivers, adapting to age, language, and sensory needs
Qualifications:
High School Diploma or GED
Completion of a Patient Care Technician program
EKG Course Certificate
Phlebotomy Course Certificate
Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification
Preferred Experience:
Minimum 1 year of experience as a PCT or CNA in a hospital setting strongly preferred

Shift:- Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
Pay:
Travel: $2,600 weekly include stipend
Local: $2,200 weekly
REQUIREMENT: NY RN license, BLS
Job Duties:
Provide direct nursing care to hematology and oncology patients in an outpatient setting
Conduct thorough patient assessments and administer treatments including chemotherapy, blood transfusions, and other infusions as per protocols
Monitor patient responses and provide appropriate education regarding medications, side effects, and care plans
Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure optimal patient care
Document all patient interactions accurately in the EPIC Electronic Medical Records (EMR) system
Support physicians during examinations and procedures
Maintain a clean, safe, and compliant clinical environment
Adhere to all hospital policies, procedures, and regulatory guidelines
Qualifications:
Current New York State RN License required
BLS Certification (must be current and renewable)
Minimum 1.5 years of recent experience (within the last 2 years) in an acute care setting similar in size and level to a major hospital
Outpatient hematology/oncology nursing experience required
Prior experience working in a Level 1 Trauma Center highly preferred
EPIC EMR experience strongly preferred
Must possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills
