Position Summary:

Seeking a skilled and compassionate Emergency Room Registered Nurse (ER RN) to provide critical patient care in a fast-paced emergency setting. The RN will utilize the full nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation to ensure high-quality outcomes. Responsibilities include administering medications, monitoring patient responses, directing support staff, and maintaining strict compliance with hospital policies and standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver patient care using the nursing process.
  • Administer medications and monitor patient responses.
  • Perform patient assessments, develop care plans, and document accurately in electronic systems.
  • Serve as a resource and mentor to ancillary staff.
  • Assume charge nurse responsibilities as required.
  • Ensure adherence to safety and infection control standards.
  • Participate in unit staff meetings, mandatory trainings, and professional development.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to optimize patient care outcomes.
  • Maintain confidentiality and uphold the highest standards of patient service.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

For All RN Levels:

  • Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing (BSN preferred).
  • Active RN license in Massachusetts.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (required).
  • ACLS certification (required or obtained during orientation).
  • Must read, write, and communicate in English.
  • Successful completion of pharmacology and basic arrhythmia exams (may be completed during onboarding).
  • Completion of de-escalation certification course (offered during orientation).

For Transition/Experienced ER Nurses:

  • 1+ year acute care RN experience required.
  • Recent (within 3 years) emergency department or critical care experience preferred.
  • Demonstrated skills in IV administration, IV starts, ventilator care, and telemetry monitoring.
  • TNCC, ENPC, and PALS certifications preferred.

Preferred Skills:

  • Charge nurse experience.
  • Strong documentation and informatics skills.
  • Commitment to professional development and continuing education.
