Position Summary
A leading acute care hospital in the Irving, TX area is seeking a dynamic and experienced Nurse Manager to provide 24/7 leadership for the Medical-Surgical department. This role is responsible for overseeing departmental operations, ensuring high-quality patient care, and aligning team performance with the hospital’s mission, vision, and strategic objectives.
The ideal candidate is a strong clinical leader with proven management or supervisory experience in an acute care Med/Surg setting and a passion for team development and operational excellence.
Responsibilities
Provide 24/7 leadership and oversight of all departmental functions
Align clinical, operational, and financial systems to support departmental performance and growth
Monitor business trends and adjust staffing and operational strategies accordingly
Build and maintain effective working relationships with patients, families, physicians, and interdisciplinary teams
Oversee day-to-day department operations including:
Payroll management
Hiring and onboarding
Staff scheduling
Performance evaluations
Counseling, mentoring, and coaching
Orientation and competency validation for new and existing staff

Qualifications
Education

Licensure
