Job Title: Cardiovascular Technician
Location: New York, NY 10025
Schedule: Full-Time | 37.5 hrs/week | 5 days/week | Shift: 1:00 PM – 9:30 PM
Job Summary
The Cardiovascular Technician provides critical support in the Cardiac Cath Lab by assisting physicians and nursing staff during diagnostic and interventional cardiovascular procedures. Responsibilities include monitoring patient vitals, operating and calibrating specialized equipment, maintaining procedure records, and ensuring patient safety and comfort throughout the process.
Key Responsibilities
Monitor patient blood pressure and intracardiac pressures, informing physicians of any significant changes.
Record pressures in all requested chambers and maintain a complete record of procedure events using Cath Lab systems.
Calibrate, operate, and monitor specialized equipment (A-Vox, Cardiac Output, ACT, intra-aortic balloon pump, power injector).
Assist physicians by supplying catheters, wires, balloons, stents, and other equipment during procedures.
Perform data analysis, process data, and generate reports.
Provide support in emergency situations (defibrillator operation, resuscitation, external pacemaker, suctioning).
Assist in sterile field setup and room preparation, including patient information entry.
Transport patients between care areas as needed.
Replenish supplies, maintain equipment, and report malfunctions or shortages.
Stay current with new technologies and procedures introduced in the Cath Lab (e.g., Flow wire, ultrasound, rotablator).
Required:
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
Preferred:
RCIS (Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist) certification preferred
Required:
High School Diploma or GED
