Job Title: Physical Therapy Assistant
Location: New York, NY 10003
Duration: 3-Month Contract (Extendable)
Shift: 8:00 AM – 4:15 PM | Monday – Friday (40 hours/week)

Pay Rate: $30/hour (W2)

Job Summary:

A healthcare facility in New York, NY is seeking a qualified and experienced Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) for a 3-month contract assignment, with potential for extension. The PTA will be responsible for implementing treatment programs under the supervision of a licensed physical therapist and will play a key role in supporting patients’ functional improvement and recovery.

Education Requirement:

• Associate’s Degree in Physical Therapy Assistant studies or related field

Licensure & Certification:

• Active PTA License – Required

Required Skills & Experience:

• Minimum 2 years of experience as a Physical Therapy Assistant

• Strong oral communication and interpersonal skills

• Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving capabilities

Key Responsibilities:

• Implement treatment plans developed by the supervising physical therapist

• Maintain timely and accurate documentation for all patient sessions

• Communicate patient progress and any concerns to the physical therapist regularly

• Coordinate with other healthcare disciplines as needed to ensure integrated patient care

• Notify the physical therapist of any changes in patient condition

• Recommend appropriate durable medical equipment (DME) in collaboration with team members

• Participate in discharge planning and ongoing therapy recommendations

• Attend clinical rounds, team meetings, and in-service training sessions as required

• Supervise PTA students during clinical affiliations when applicable
