Key Responsibilities
Prepare operating rooms with required instruments, equipment, and sterile supplies
Assist surgeons during procedures by passing instruments and maintaining the sterile field
Ensure proper handling, care, and accountability of surgical instruments and supplies
Anticipate surgical team needs and respond promptly during procedures
Maintain compliance with infection control, safety standards, and hospital protocols
Collaborate effectively with surgeons, nurses, and anesthesia staff
Support both adult and pediatric surgical cases
Requirements
Certified Surgical Technologist (CST)
NBSTSA Certification required
Exception: Certification not required if the candidate worked as a Surgical Tech in New York State prior to 2015
Recent operating room experience required
