Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced MRI Technologist to join a reputable healthcare facility in New York. The ideal candidate will perform magnetic resonance imaging procedures using advanced MRI technology while ensuring patient safety, comfort, and high-quality diagnostic images.
Key Responsibilities
Perform MRI imaging procedures in accordance with established protocols and best practices.
Accurately position patients and coils to achieve optimal image quality.
Educate patients about procedures, preparation, and expectations to ensure comfort and cooperation.
Review MRI safety questionnaires prior to scanning and maintain compliance with all safety standards.
Label and transmit images to PACS following departmental SOPs.
Evaluate images for technical accuracy and completeness.
Document all procedures accurately in the Radiology Information System (IDX).
Maintain cleanliness and organization of MRI rooms and equipment.
Monitor and replenish imaging supplies as necessary.
Report any equipment malfunctions or safety concerns immediately.
Provide assistance to physicians during procedures as needed.
Perform clerical tasks when support staff are unavailable.
Adhere to MRI safety, infection control, and quality assurance protocols.
Participate in ongoing education, training, and professional development sessions.
Maintain all required licensure and certifications in good standing.
Required Skills & Experience
Strong knowledge of cross-sectional anatomy, physiology, MR physics, and imaging science.
Excellent technical imaging and patient care skills.
Minimum of 2 years of MRI experience in a clinical or hospital setting.
Experience working with specific scanner platforms (e.g., GE, Siemens, Philips).
Education & Certification Requirements
Graduate of an AMA/J.C.E.R.T. approved Radiologic Technology program.
Active Licensure/Certifications:
New York State License in Diagnostic Radiology
ARRT Certification in MRI
BCLS (Basic Cardiac Life Support) Certification
