Job Title: Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA)

Job Summary:
As a Certified Nursing Assistant, you will provide essential care and support to Veterans/Members, assisting them with daily living activities and ensuring their comfort and well-being. The role includes a variety of responsibilities, from personal care to medical support, all aimed at enhancing the quality of life for the Veterans/Members in your care.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist Veterans/Members with activities of daily living (ADLs), including transfers, ambulation, eating, bathing, dressing, toileting, and personal hygiene.
Follow instructions to use procedures and devices to help strengthen limbs and maintain flexibility.
Assist nursing staff with simple medical procedures such as administering suppositories, enemas, treatments, post-surgical care, and post-mortem care.
Monitor physical and mental status by taking vital signs (temperature, pulse, respirations) and collecting samples (urine, sputum, or stool).
Maintain accurate medical record documentation for assigned Veterans/Members.
Assist Veterans/Members with dining, including transport to the dining room, informing them of meal options, and assisting with eating as needed.
Ensure a clean and sanitary environment by changing bedding and linens and maintaining cleanliness in personal areas.
Respond promptly to Veterans/Members’ requests for assistance in accordance with the Resident Bill of Rights.
Report to and assist licensed nurses in emergency situations by following established policies and procedures.
Perform additional duties, such as transporting Veterans/Members to appointments outside the facility and performing clerical tasks (e.g., answering phones, filing).
Skills & Experience Required:
Experience with using and maintaining medical equipment.
Experience in recording and managing medical records.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
At least 1 year of experience working in a Skilled Nursing or Long-term Care facility.
Education & Certifications:
Current negative TB skin test (Mantoux skin test) within the last 12 months or written proof of freedom from Tuberculosis if previously tested positive.
Hepatitis B vaccination or declination.
Ability to obtain and retain a fingerprint clearance card from the Arizona Department of Public Safety.
Current or temporary license to practice as a CNA, LPN, or RN in the State of Arizona.
Current CPR certification obtained through a physical assessment.
