Pay Rate: $19.00/hour (W2)

Position Summary:

A public housing agency in Fairfax, VA is seeking an Housing Program Assistant to support its Homeownership Division with a variety of administrative and customer service tasks. This position plays a vital role in ensuring the efficient daily operation of housing programs by assisting with data management, correspondence, stakeholder communication, and reporting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the first point of contact for customers, stakeholders, and community members

  • Communicate professionally and clearly in both oral and written formats with internal and external stakeholders

  • Provide administrative support to Homeownership Division staff across multiple projects and duties

  • Assist with application intake, data tracking, monitoring, and reporting

  • Use Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Yardi to create, manage, and distribute documents and reports

  • Draft and prepare routine correspondence and responses to inquiries across various housing-related programs

  • Review, sort, copy, and route incoming mail and requests, identifying time-sensitive materials and appropriate staff follow-up

  • Perform related administrative duties as needed

Required Experience & Skills:

  • Experience providing excellent customer service via phone, email, and in-person interactions

  • Ability to support professional and community stakeholders, including managing correspondence, reporting, data entry, and handling confidential information

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and general office technology

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • File management, archiving, and ability to work independently or in a team environment

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working with housing or community assistance programs

  • Background supporting vulnerable populations or working in social services
