Job Title: ACPE Associate Educator (Chaplaincy Services - Experienced)

Location: Houston, TX 77074
Duration: 12+ Months (Contract with possible extension)
Schedule: Monday to Friday | 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM

Position Summary:

We are seeking a compassionate and experienced ACPE Associate Educator to support the delivery and advancement of Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) programs. This role plays a critical part in chaplaincy training, program supervision, staff development, and interdepartmental collaboration in a hospital setting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate on the design and delivery of educational programs within accredited CPE residency and internship structures

  • Recruit, orient, supervise, and evaluate interns and residents enrolled in ACPE-accredited programs

  • Provide mentoring and coaching to CPE participants

  • Manage and support chaplaincy personnel including performance evaluation, development, and staffing needs

  • Contribute to departmental budgeting and statistical reporting

  • Support and develop spiritual care services that benefit patients, families, and healthcare teams

  • Represent chaplaincy services in administrative, managerial, and interdisciplinary settings

  • Lead and participate in educational initiatives for healthcare staff, volunteers, and faith communities

  • Maintain collaborative relationships with local faith-based organizations

  • Support professional development efforts, act as preceptor and mentor to less experienced chaplaincy staff

  • Promote service excellence by providing compassionate, respectful, and personalized care

  • Participate in hospital committees and interdepartmental efforts as assigned

  • Perform additional duties as required by leadership

Required Experience and Qualifications:

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in Chaplaincy Services

  • Completion of at least one-year ACPE-accredited residency (two years preferred)

  • Endorsement by a recognized faith group for chaplaincy

  • Proven ability to provide inclusive, sensitive spiritual care in a diverse healthcare environment

Education Requirements:

  • Master of Divinity or equivalent as defined by ACPE standards

Licensure/Certification:

  • ACPE Certified Educator or ACPE Certified Associate Educator
