Position Summary:

A community-based early childhood education program in Phoenix, AZ is seeking a Health Assistant to support day-to-day health operations. This role works closely with the Health Coordinator to ensure children’s health and developmental needs are properly documented, tracked, and supported. The position involves both administrative and coordination tasks, especially related to health screenings, data entry, and family communication.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Enter and monitor health screening data; run and review reports

  • Maintain up-to-date health records and inventory of medical supplies

  • Assist in integrating Individual Health Plans (IHPs), Individual Education Plans (IEPs), and special dietary/medical needs into classroom planning

  • Participate in case coordination meetings for children needing individualized care

  • Support early screening processes to identify developmental delays

  • Assist in scheduling procedures carried out by licensed healthcare providers

  • Help coordinate and communicate medical and dental information with parents in collaboration with Family Services

  • Track medical and dental home information and support follow-up care coordination

  • Coordinate and support vision and hearing screenings

  • Maintain inventory of health-related supplies

  • Collaborate with educational and family services staff to integrate health into daily learning

  • Assist with Health Services Advisory Committee: planning, recruiting members, taking notes, and presenting when needed

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Strong office, organizational, and customer service skills

  • Proficient in data entry and computer use

  • Ability to work well with families, staff, and children in a team setting

  • High school diploma or GED

  • Previous office or data entry experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bilingual in English and Spanish

  • Experience working in a Head Start or early childhood education environment

  • Ability to take feedback, follow direction, and work collaboratively
