Provide administrative and clerical support to the Pathology department
Answer and route phone calls, manage inquiries, and support communication flow
Retrieve specimens from operating rooms and laboratory areas, verifying patient and specimen information
Ensure proper stocking of collection materials, reagents, and supplies
Process pathology and cytology specimens, including frozen sections
Verify specimen accuracy, acceptability, and special handling requirements
Track specimens sent for external consultations and second opinions
Prepare slides and materials for tumor boards, QA reviews, and medical/legal cases
Package and prepare specimens for shipment to reference labs and other facilities
Maintain logs for reference lab cases and specimen tracking
File, scan, and update laboratory records and documentation
Maintain cleanliness and organization of work areas, including equipment and storage units
Perform routine quality control checks and equipment maintenance tasks
Manage slide and block filing systems and handle return mail processes
Deliver excellent customer service to patients, staff, and visitors
Perform additional duties as assigned
Required Qualifications
Experience in a laboratory, pathology, or healthcare support setting preferred
Strong data entry and computer skills
