Job Title: CT Technologist – Contract

Location: New York, NY (Postal Code: 10025)
Schedule:

  • Monday to Friday: 4:00 PM – 12:00 AM

  • Every other weekend (EOW): 4:00 PM – 12:00 AM

  • Total Hours: 37.5 hours/week (7.5 hours/day, 5 days/week)

Job Summary:

Seeking a CT Technologist to perform high-quality diagnostic imaging procedures and support daily operations within a radiology department. This position ensures patient safety, image quality, and compliance with radiation safety protocols while coordinating with medical staff for timely and accurate exam delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Utilize appropriate kV and mA settings to produce high-quality diagnostic CT images in accordance with clinical protocols.

  2. Perform daily quality control and calibration checks on imaging equipment to ensure operational integrity.

  3. Administer radiopharmaceuticals as ordered by physicians, adhering to safety and procedural protocols.

  4. Complete departmental documentation, including logs, charge forms, manuals, and equipment issue reports, in compliance with regulatory requirements.

  5. Conduct quality assurance and safety tests, maintaining adherence to ALARA (As Low As Reasonably Achievable) radiation safety principles.

  6. Manage and retrieve patient imaging data (films and electronic files) for radiologist review.

  7. Order patient-specific radiopharmaceutical doses one day prior to use.

  8. Receive and verify radiopharmaceuticals on delivery day; confirm dosage activity levels before administration.

Required Skills:

  • Proficient in executing CT procedures following clinical protocols to ensure consistent, accurate results.

  • Demonstrates sound clinical judgment and responsiveness to patient needs throughout the imaging process.

  • Strong attention to detail and technical acumen in equipment handling, radiation safety, and quality control.

Education & Certifications:

  • Valid New York State Radiologic Technologist License (NYS DOH)

  • ARRT Certification in Radiography and Computed Tomography (CT)

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification

  • Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology program

  • Minimum of 1 year of CT experience required
