Key Responsibilities
Perform donor screening to ensure eligibility in accordance with facility, regulatory, and accreditation standards.
Conduct whole blood collections and therapeutic phlebotomy procedures.
Participate in blood collections at offsite drives and within the donor center.
Prepare, label, and handle blood components and specimens for testing.
Maintain accurate donor records, documentation, and data entry including deferrals.
Support donor recruitment initiatives and outreach efforts.
Monitor and replenish donor care supplies; submit supply requests as needed.
Obtain appropriate blood specimens from donors and patients.
Maintain clean, organized, and sanitary work environments.
Adhere to hospital policies, safety protocols, and regulatory requirements.
Deliver professional and compassionate customer service to patients, visitors, and staff.
Perform additional duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED required.
Prior phlebotomy experience required.
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
Strong English communication skills (written and verbal).
Ability to work independently and manage tasks under pressure.
Proficiency with computers, laptops, and data entry systems.
Preferred Qualifications
National certification or completion of an accredited phlebotomy program.
Experience in donor services or blood bank collections.
Experience performing therapeutic phlebotomy.
Familiarity with regulatory standards (e.g., CDC, FDA, AABB, CAP).
Experience working at offsite blood drives.
