Physical Therapist (Travel/Contract)
Coverage Area: Throughout New Mexico
Role Overview
This position offers the opportunity to work as a Travel Physical Therapist across diverse clinical settings within the state. The PT will evaluate patients with physical limitations, implement evidence-based treatment programs, and support rehabilitation goals across outpatient, inpatient, SNF, school, or home health environments.
Primary Responsibilities
Conduct initial evaluations and functional assessments
Develop comprehensive care plans targeting mobility, pain reduction, and physical recovery
Administer therapies such as strengthening, gait training, balance work, and manual interventions
Document patient encounters according to state and facility standards
Participate in interdisciplinary collaboration for coordinated care
Provide education on home exercises, mobility safety, and long-term wellness
Maintain quality outcomes while rotating between various locations
Drive or travel to assignments anywhere in New Mexico
Required Credentials
Active NM PT License (or eligibility at time of hire)
DPT/MSPT degree
One year of recent practice in any of the following: outpatient, acute care, SNF, home health, inpatient rehab
AHA BLS certification
Ability to quickly adjust to new workflows and documentation systems
Preferred
Cross-setting clinical experience
Excellent time management and patient communication
Prior travel assignment experience
Bilingual (Spanish) is a strong advantage

We are hiring a Physical Therapist to join our statewide travel pool, providing therapy services at various locations throughout New Mexico. This role offers the opportunity to support a wide range of patient populations while working with dynamic clinical teams across outpatient, inpatient, long-term care, home health, and school environments.
Key Duties
Deliver therapeutic interventions and manual techniques
Update treatment plans based on ongoing progress
Complete documentation per facility and regulatory expectations
Participate in collaborative care with nurses, physicians, and therapists
Coach patients and caregivers on exercises and recovery strategies

New Mexico PT license (active or eligible prior to start)
DPT/MSPT from an accredited program
At least 1 year of recent PT experience across any recognized clinical setting
