Job Description:

We are seeking a compassionate and experienced Psychiatric Registered Nurse (RN) to provide specialized care to patients with mental health and behavioral conditions. This role involves direct patient care, crisis intervention, medication administration, and collaboration with a multidisciplinary team to deliver comprehensive psychiatric care in an inpatient or outpatient setting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct mental health assessments and monitor behavioral health conditions

  • Administer medications and monitor patients for side effects or reactions

  • Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized nursing care plans

  • Provide crisis intervention and de-escalation techniques as needed

  • Collaborate with psychiatrists, social workers, and other healthcare professionals

  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation in patient medical records

  • Educate patients and families about mental health conditions and treatment options

  • Ensure a safe and therapeutic environment for all patients

Required Qualifications:

  • Active RN license in the state of New Hampshire (or compact license)

  • BLS Certification (American Heart Association)

  • Minimum of 1 year of psychiatric or behavioral health nursing experience

  • Strong knowledge of psychiatric medications, de-escalation techniques, and therapeutic communication

  • Ability to manage complex clinical situations and maintain patient safety

Preferred Qualifications:

  • CPI certification or similar crisis prevention/intervention training

  • Experience in inpatient psychiatric or behavioral health settings

  • BSN preferred

Work Environment:

  • Inpatient psychiatric facility or behavioral health unit

  • Collaborative, multidisciplinary team-based approach

  • May require working evenings, weekends, holidays, or rotating shifts
