Job Title: Donor Care Specialist 
Location: Hyannis, MA
Schedule: 40 hours per week

Shift Options: Rotating Days

  • 6:00 AM – 2:00 PM

  • 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM

  • 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM

  • 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM

  • 10:00 AM – 6:00 PM

  • 11:00 AM – 7:00 PM

Note: Occasional weekends and holidays are required

Compensation: $35/hour (approximately $1,400/week)

Position Summary:

A leading healthcare provider in the Hyannis, MA area is seeking a dedicated Donor Care Specialist I to join their blood donor services team. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring high-quality donor screening, collection, and care in accordance with regulatory and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Screen blood donors in compliance with CDC, FDA, AABB, CAP, and internal policies

  • Perform whole blood and therapeutic phlebotomy procedures in both fixed donor centers and mobile settings

  • Label and process blood components and specimens for laboratory testing

  • Document donor and collection information accurately and maintain compliance with quality standards

  • Support donor recruitment and provide an exceptional donor experience

  • Maintain adequate inventory and cleanliness of workspaces and equipment

  • Adhere to infection control and safety standards

  • Participate in quality control processes and improvement initiatives

  • Engage in ongoing training and professional development

  • Perform additional duties as assigned

Additional Duties (Based on Level):

Donor Room Specialist I:

  • Suggest process improvements to enhance workflow and service

  • Assist in departmental quality assurance efforts

Donor Room Specialist II (if applicable):

  • Provide guidance and mentorship to new hires or students

Qualifications:

Required:

  • High School Diploma or GED

  • Prior experience in donor phlebotomy

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (within 90 days of hire)

  • Strong data entry and computer skills

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

  • Ability to work independently and under pressure

Preferred:

  • Completion of an accredited phlebotomy program or national phlebotomy certification
