Scope of Services:
The Network Infrastructure Engineer will perform highly technical responsibilities, requiring critical thinking, problem-solving skills, and independent judgment. The role includes upgrading network infrastructure across 55 locations, addressing day-to-day network and telecommunication issues, and implementing industry-standard best practices.
Primary Responsibilities:
Collaborate with the Network Infrastructure and Telecommunication team leader to upgrade networks, implement wireless solutions (Meraki & Cisco), and provide support/troubleshooting.
Work with Cisco Catalyst and Nexus switches, Cisco VoIP devices, and related technologies.
Implement protocols, including EIGRP, BGP, SSH, TCP/IP, UDP, SSL, HTTP, HTTPS, DNS, L2/L3 switches, VPC, 802.1Q, STP, RSTP, VTP, QoS, ACLs, SIP, and more.
Deploy and support security products such as firewalls, IPSec, RADIUS, PKI, IKE, certificates, MD5, SSL, and SHA1.
Gather data on landlines for VoIP deployment at client-managed locations.
Design LANs with considerations for legacy equipment integration and upgrades.
Oversee deployment processes, including inventory, equipment installation, cabling, and documentation.
Create design recommendations aligned with Cisco best practices and manage project planning for implementation and maintenance windows.
Travel to various locations within the five boroughs for data gathering, network deployment, and troubleshooting.
Utilize network management and troubleshooting tools such as Sniffer, Syslog, NetFlow, TCPDUMP, and Wireshark.
Manage and operate Cisco Firepower firewalls, Stealthwatch, and DNA Center.
Document networks, systems, MOPs, and operational materials.
Conduct network and security assessments to troubleshoot, optimize performance, and implement new architectures and technologies.
Mandatory Skills/Experience:
Minimum of 12 years of experience in an IT network engineering or technician role.
Extensive experience in complex routing and switching environments.
Strong expertise with Meraki, Firewalls, DNA Center, and Cisco-specific solutions.
Ability to work independently and perform fieldwork, including equipment installation and cabling.
Experience implementing network patches and resolving related issues.
Exceptional troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
Client-facing experience with strong customer support and interpersonal skills.
Desirable Skills/Experience:
Cisco WLAN and Meraki-specific experience preferred.
Knowledge of Meraki Wi-Fi deployment, VPN certificates, and wireless router configurations.
Familiarity with ITIL processes, including Incident, Change, and Problem Management.
Active CCNA certification preferred.
