Shift Schedule:

  • Tuesdays: 3:00 PM – 11:00 PM

  • Alternate Saturdays and Sundays: 9:00 AM – 10:00 PM

  • Weekly Hours: Approximately 22 hours/week

Pay Rate: $57/hour

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Part-Time General Ultrasound Technologist to provide high-quality diagnostic imaging services in a fast-paced hospital radiology department. This role involves preparing patients, performing sonographic procedures, and assisting physicians in diagnostic evaluations.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and identify patients accurately for ultrasound exams in line with departmental protocols.

  • Obtain and review health history and assess patient readiness or ability to tolerate procedures.

  • Ensure the requested exam aligns with clinical history and patient condition; notify physicians of any contraindications.

  • Operate, calibrate, and maintain ultrasound equipment while ensuring patient and staff safety.

  • Communicate clearly with patients, families, and healthcare professionals regarding procedures and expectations.

  • Develop or adjust procedural plans based on patient history, condition, and age-appropriate considerations.

  • Perform ultrasound exams under general or direct physician supervision; adjust techniques for optimal imaging quality.

  • Analyze imaging findings and ensure comprehensive exams meet diagnostic needs.

  • Conduct measurements and calculations in accordance with lab and ACR standards.

  • Record and archive diagnostic images and provide preliminary oral summaries to radiologists.

  • Notify medical staff of any urgent clinical findings requiring immediate attention.

  • Monitor patient condition during and post-examination; assess readiness for discharge from ultrasound services.

  • Ensure adequate supply levels are maintained within the ultrasound department.

Education: High School Diploma (HSD) – required

Certifications:

  • ARDMS Certificationrequired

  • BLS Certificationpreferred but not mandatory
