Shift & Schedule: Day Shift | 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM | 5 Days per Week | 40 Hours Weekly
Pay Rate:
Local: $1,600 - $1,700/Week
Travel: $1,980 - $2,080/Week (Based on Eligibility and Experience)

Position Overview:

Navitas Healthcare, LLC is seeking a Telemetry Technician for an exciting Contract opportunity in Long Island City, NY.

Responsibilities

  • Perform continuous ECG and telemetry monitoring for assigned patients.

  • Analyze ECG strips and accurately interpret cardiac rhythms and dysrhythmias.

  • Identify and promptly respond to potentially life-threatening rhythm changes.

  • Initiate appropriate emergency response procedures and assist during code situations.

  • Record and document cardiac rhythms during emergency events and code situations.

  • Perform electrocardiograms (EKGs) with proper electrode placement.

  • Troubleshoot telemetry and monitoring equipment issues.

  • Monitor and respond appropriately to all cardiac monitor alarms.

  • Enter and verify physician orders within the computer system.

  • Retrieve laboratory results and communicate critical findings to nursing staff.

  • Maintain accurate documentation in accordance with organizational policies.

  • Operate monitoring and medical equipment safely and effectively.

  • Communicate clearly and professionally with physicians, nurses, and interdisciplinary team members.

Required Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required.

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification required (AHA or American Red Cross).

  • Dysrhythmia Course Certification required.

  • Experience with ECG and telemetry monitoring.

  • Experience interpreting cardiac rhythms and dysrhythmias.

  • Knowledge of electrocardiogram procedures and electrode placement.

  • Experience with order entry and electronic documentation systems.

  • Ability to retrieve and communicate laboratory results accurately.

  • Experience operating telemetry and cardiac monitoring equipment.

  • Strong understanding of patient safety protocols and emergency response procedures.

  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced hospital environment.

  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.

  • Basic computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office applications.

  • Ability to recognize and respond appropriately to cardiac emergencies.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with ECG monitoring and cardiac rhythm interpretation preferred.

  • Weekend availability required.
