Registered Nurse (RN) – Med-Surg Step-down / Telemetry

Location: Rome, NY

Job Type: 14-Week Contract | Local & Traveler

Schedule: Night Shift | 3x12 Hours | 07:00 PM – 07:00 AM | 36 Hours/Week

Pay Rate:

  • Local: $2,000 - $2,050/Week

  • Traveler: $2,300 - $2,350/Week

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced RN for a Med-Surg Step-down / Telemetry unit caring for adult and geriatric patients requiring cardiac monitoring and intermediate-level care.

Requirements

  • Active RN License required.

  • BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS Certifications required.

  • ADN or BSN from an accredited nursing program.

  • Minimum 1–2 years of recent Step-down, PCU, or Telemetry experience.

  • Strong cardiac monitoring and patient assessment skills.

  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced acute care environment.

Responsibilities

  • Provide nursing care to Med-Surg Step-down and Telemetry patients.

  • Monitor and interpret cardiac telemetry rhythms.

  • Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.

  • Perform patient assessments and monitor changes in condition.

  • Develop and implement individualized care plans.

  • Educate patients and families regarding treatment plans and discharge instructions.

  • Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary healthcare teams.

  • Maintain accurate clinical documentation.
