Job Title: Nuclear Medicine Technologist (PET/CT)

Location: Mission Viejo, CA
Duration: 13 Weeks (Potential Extension)
Schedule: 4x10s or 5x8s (Candidate Preference)
Shift Start Time: Variable between 7:00 AM – 9:00 AM
Compensation: $2,400 – $3,250 Weekly (Based on Experience)

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Nuclear Medicine Technologist to join a leading healthcare organization in California. This role involves performing both Nuclear Medicine and PET imaging procedures while delivering exceptional patient care and maintaining compliance with all radiation safety and regulatory standards. The ideal candidate will have recent PET experience, strong technical expertise, and the ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary healthcare team.

Responsibilities

  • Perform PET and Nuclear Medicine imaging procedures according to physician orders and departmental protocols.
  • Prepare, calculate, and administer radiopharmaceuticals safely and accurately.
  • Operate Nuclear Medicine and PET imaging equipment to obtain high-quality diagnostic studies.
  • Monitor patients throughout imaging procedures and provide compassionate patient care.
  • Ensure accurate and timely documentation within the electronic medical record system.
  • Collaborate with physicians, radiologists, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to support patient care.
  • Follow all radiation safety guidelines, quality assurance measures, and regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain imaging equipment and report any operational concerns as appropriate.
  • Participate in departmental quality improvement and patient safety initiatives.

Required Qualifications

Education

  • Graduate of an accredited Nuclear Medicine Technology program.

Certifications & Licensure

  • Active California Nuclear Medicine license required.
  • One of the following certifications required:
    • ARRT (N), or
    • NMTCB
  • Current BLS Certification required.

Experience

  • Minimum one (1) year of Nuclear Medicine experience required.
  • Minimum six (6) months of recent PET experience required.
  • First-time travelers accepted with at least two (2) years of total experience.
  • Experience with Siemens imaging equipment preferred.
  • Epic EMR experience preferred.

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong knowledge of Nuclear Medicine and PET imaging procedures.
  • Excellent patient care and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and within a collaborative healthcare team.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to diagnostic quality.
  • Knowledge of radiation safety standards and regulatory compliance.

  • Variable shift start times between 7:00 AM and 9:00 AM.
  • 13-week contract assignment with potential for extension.
