Job Title: Certified Surgical Technologist (CST)

Location: Hyannis, Massachusetts
Contract Duration: 13 Weeks (Extension Possible)

Position Overview

We are seeking a skilled Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) to support surgical procedures in a busy acute care hospital setting. The ideal candidate will have strong operating room experience, excellent knowledge of sterile technique, and the ability to work collaboratively with surgeons, nurses, and other perioperative staff.

Schedule

  • 40 Hours per Week
  • Day Shift
  • 8-Hour Shifts
  • 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM

Compensation

  • Weekly Pay Range: $2,000 – $2,440
  • Compensation based on experience and qualifications

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technology/Operating Room Technician Program (Civilian or Military)
  • Current NBSTSA Certification (Required)
  • Current BLS Certification (Required)
  • Strong understanding of sterile techniques and surgical procedures
  • Orthopedic surgical experience strongly preferred

Responsibilities

  • Prepare operating rooms with instruments, equipment, sterile drapes, and surgical supplies.
  • Maintain sterile technique in accordance with hospital policies and AORN standards.
  • Assist surgeons during procedures by passing instruments and supplies.
  • Handle and prepare specimens for laboratory analysis.
  • Assist with patient positioning, transport, and surgical site preparation.
  • Perform sponge, needle, and instrument counts with the surgical team.
  • Prepare and label medications under supervision and according to policy.
  • Ensure surgical equipment is available, functioning properly, and ready for use.
  • Assist with room turnover, cleaning, and restocking of supplies.
  • Support sterilization and infection prevention processes.
  • Participate in staff meetings, training programs, and continuing education activities.
  • Collaborate with the perioperative team to provide safe, high-quality patient care.

  • Orthopedic Surgery
  • Acute Care Hospital Operating Room Experience
  • High-Volume Surgical Environment
  • Knowledge of AORN Standards and Best Practices
