Job Title: Registered Nurse – Clinic / Ambulatory Care

Location: East Elmhurst, NY
Duration: 12 Weeks
Shift: 8:00 AM – 8:30 PM

Compensation

  • Traveler Pay: $65–$70/hr ($2,340–$2,520/week) – Based on Experience
  • Local Pay: $54–$57/hr ($1,944–$2,052/week) – Based on Experience

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced and patient-focused Registered Nurse (RN) to join an ambulatory/clinic care team. The RN will provide direct patient care, perform clinical assessments, assist with procedures, administer treatments, and support physicians and healthcare providers in delivering high-quality outpatient services. The ideal candidate will possess strong clinical skills, excellent communication abilities, and experience working in a fast-paced clinic or medical-surgical environment.

Responsibilities

Patient Care

  • Assess, monitor, and document patient health status and responses to treatment.
  • Administer medications, treatments, and vaccinations according to provider orders.
  • Perform IV insertions, venipuncture, and specimen collection.
  • Assist with patient examinations, procedures, and diagnostic testing.
  • Provide patient education regarding treatment plans, medications, and follow-up care.

Clinical Operations

  • Maintain accurate and timely electronic medical records and documentation.
  • Monitor patient flow and coordinate care to ensure efficient clinic operations.
  • Communicate effectively with providers, patients, families, and interdisciplinary healthcare teams.
  • Assist in managing urgent patient needs and clinical concerns within the ambulatory setting.

Quality & Compliance

  • Adhere to established nursing standards, infection prevention guidelines, and safety protocols.
  • Maintain compliance with organizational policies, regulatory requirements, and patient confidentiality standards.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and staff education activities as required.

Required Qualifications

Education

  • Associate Degree in Nursing (ASN or ADN) from an accredited nursing program required.

Licensure & Certifications

  • Active New York State Registered Nurse (RN) License required.
  • Primary Source Verification of RN License and Registration through NYSED required.
  • Current American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
  • Current American Heart Association (AHA) Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification required for applicable clinic locations.

Experience

  • Minimum two (2) years of recent Medical-Surgical or Ambulatory/Clinic nursing experience required.
  • Experience with IV insertion and phlebotomy required.

Required Skills

  • Proficiency in IV therapy and blood specimen collection.
  • Excellent communication and patient education skills.
