Certified Orthopedic Technician (OTC)

Location: Mission Hills, CA
Contract Duration: 13 Weeks

Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced Certified Orthopedic Technician (OTC) to join a busy outpatient orthopedic clinic. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with casting, splinting, bracing, and orthopedic patient care in an outpatient setting.

Important: Only candidates holding an active Orthopedic Technologist Certified (OTC) credential through NBCOT will be considered. Certified Surgical Technologists (CST) and OR Technicians will not be accepted.

Schedule

• Monday – Friday
• No Weekends
• No On-Call

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of Orthopedic Technician experience
• Active OTC Certification through NBCOT required
• Outpatient orthopedic experience required
• First-time travelers accepted
• Local candidates accepted
• Pending certifications/licenses not accepted

Responsibilities

• Apply and remove casts, splints, braces, and orthopedic devices.
• Assist physicians and advanced practice providers during orthopedic procedures.
• Educate patients on cast care, brace use, and injury management.
• Prepare patients and treatment areas for orthopedic evaluations and procedures.
• Monitor patients for proper fit and function of orthopedic devices.
• Maintain accurate patient documentation in the electronic medical record.
• Ensure compliance with clinic policies, safety standards, and infection prevention protocols.
• Support efficient clinic workflow and patient throughput.
