Registered Nurse (RN) – Stepdown / Progressive Care

Location: Cleveland, Ohio
Contract Duration: 13 Weeks

Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced Stepdown/Progressive Care Registered Nurse (RN) for a leading academic medical center. The nurse will provide care for patients requiring close monitoring and intermediate-level care while supporting a high-acuity cardiovascular and telemetry patient population.

Schedule

• 3x12-Hour Shifts Only
• Rotating Days/Nights
  • 7:00 AM – 7:30 PM
  • 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM
• Preferred shift will be considered; however, rotation may be required based on operational needs.
• Must work every other holiday.

Requirements

• Active Ohio RN License or Compact RN License required at submission
• BLS (AHA) required
• ACLS (AHA) required
• NIHSS Certification required
• Minimum 18 months of recent Stepdown experience required
• Minimum 18 months of combined permanent nursing experience in the specialty required
• Travel experience accepted toward specialty experience requirements
• PCU/Progressive Care experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to stepdown and progressive care patients.
• Monitor and interpret cardiac rhythms and telemetry findings.
• Perform detailed patient assessments and develop individualized care plans.
• Administer medications and treatments according to physician orders.
• Collaborate with physicians, case managers, and interdisciplinary healthcare teams.
• Respond to changes in patient condition and escalate care when appropriate.
• Educate patients and families regarding treatment plans and discharge needs.
• Maintain accurate and timely electronic medical record documentation.
