Location: Gastonia, NC
Duration: 13 Weeks
Shift: Day Shift (7:00 AM – 3:30 PM)
Schedule: 5x8-Hour Shifts | 40 Hours Per Week

Compensation

Traveler Pay: $55–$60/hr ($2,200–$2,400/week) (Based on Experience)

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Radiation Therapist to join a busy outpatient Radiation Oncology department. The ideal candidate will deliver high-quality radiation therapy treatments while ensuring patient safety, comfort, and adherence to prescribed treatment plans. This role requires strong technical expertise, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively with physicians, physicists, dosimetrists, and other healthcare professionals.

Responsibilities

  • Administer prescribed radiation therapy treatments according to physician treatment plans.
  • Accurately position patients and operate radiation therapy equipment to ensure precise treatment delivery.
  • Review treatment parameters and verify patient information prior to treatment administration.
  • Monitor patients during procedures and respond appropriately to patient needs and concerns.
  • Maintain detailed and accurate treatment records within the electronic medical record system.
  • Collaborate with radiation oncologists, medical physicists, dosimetrists, nurses, and support staff to optimize patient care.
  • Perform quality assurance and safety checks on treatment equipment according to departmental protocols.
  • Educate patients regarding treatment procedures, expectations, and potential side effects.
  • Maintain compliance with radiation safety standards, regulatory requirements, and organizational policies.
  • Support a compassionate, patient-centered care environment throughout the treatment process.

Required Qualifications

Education

  • Graduate of an accredited Radiation Therapy program.

Licensure & Certifications

  • ARRT Certification in Radiation Therapy (RT(T)) required.
  • Current Radiation Therapist credentials in good standing.
  • Additional state licensure as required by applicable regulations.

Experience

  • Previous Radiation Therapy experience preferred.
  • Experience in an outpatient oncology setting preferred.

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong knowledge of radiation therapy procedures and treatment delivery.
  • Proficiency with oncology information systems and electronic medical records.
  • Excellent patient care and communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to treatment accuracy.
  • Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary oncology team.
  • Knowledge of radiation safety principles and quality assurance standards.
