Telemetry Technician | Travel Contract

Location: New York, NY

Duration: 13 Weeks

Shift: Day Shift

Hours: 34.5 Hours Per Week

Responsibilities:

  • Perform continuous ECG and telemetry monitoring.

  • Interpret cardiac rhythms and dysrhythmias accurately.

  • Identify and respond to critical or life-threatening rhythm changes.

  • Initiate code procedures and document cardiac rhythms during emergencies.

  • Perform electrocardiograms with proper electrode placement.

  • Troubleshoot telemetry and monitoring equipment issues.

  • Respond appropriately to monitor alarms.

  • Communicate effectively with nurses, physicians, and healthcare staff.

  • Enter and verify physician orders in the computer system.

  • Retrieve and communicate laboratory results to charge nurses.

  • Maintain accurate documentation according to organizational standards.

  • Operate monitoring and medical equipment safely and effectively.

  • Ensure compliance with hospital policies and patient safety standards.

Preferred:

  • Previous experience in a large hospital or health system.

  • Advanced cardiac monitoring experience.

  • Strong knowledge of telemetry equipment and troubleshooting.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 2 years of Telemetry Technician/Monitor Technician experience in a hospital setting.

  • High School Diploma or GED required.

  • Strong ECG interpretation and arrhythmia recognition skills.

  • Experience with telemetry monitoring systems.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.

  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced acute care environment.

  • Availability to work every other weekend.

  • Current Telemetry Technician Certification.

  • Current BLS Certification (AHA or American Red Cross).

  • Dysrhythmia Course Completion.
