Job Title: Ultrasound Technologist – General

Location: Petaluma, CA
Duration: 13 Weeks
Shift: Day Shift (4x10-Hour Shifts)
Schedule: Variable 10-Hour Shifts | Start Times: 6:30 AM or 11:00 AM

Compensation

Traveler Pay: $63–$66/hr ($2,520–$2,640/week) (Based on Experience)
Local Pay: $48–$52/hr ($1,920–$2,080/week) (Based on Experience)

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Ultrasound Technologist to provide high-quality diagnostic ultrasound services in a fast-paced healthcare environment. The ideal candidate will perform a variety of ultrasound examinations, ensure exceptional patient care, and maintain imaging quality standards while collaborating with physicians and healthcare professionals to support accurate diagnosis and treatment planning.

Responsibilities

  • Perform diagnostic ultrasound examinations in accordance with physician orders and departmental protocols.
  • Prepare and position patients for ultrasound procedures while ensuring comfort, privacy, and safety.
  • Operate ultrasound equipment to obtain high-quality diagnostic images.
  • Review images for technical quality and completeness prior to submission for interpretation.
  • Maintain accurate patient records and imaging documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, infection prevention, and quality assurance standards.
  • Communicate effectively with radiologists, physicians, and healthcare staff regarding patient care and imaging needs.
  • Monitor and report equipment issues to ensure optimal functionality.
  • Assist with workflow management and prioritize imaging requests appropriately.
  • Participate in on-call coverage as required.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and professional work environment.
  • Deliver compassionate, patient-centered care at all times.

Required Qualifications

Education

  • Graduate of an accredited Diagnostic Medical Sonography or Radiologic Technology program.

Licensure & Certifications

  • ARDMS (American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography) required.
  • ARDMS certification in at least one specialty category required.
  • ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) certification required.
  • RVT (Registered Vascular Technologist) certification required.
  • Current BLS Certification required.

Experience

  • Minimum two (2) years of recent Ultrasound Technologist experience required.
  • Experience performing general ultrasound examinations required.

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong knowledge of ultrasound imaging procedures and equipment.

  • Ability to work independently and efficiently in a fast-paced clinical environment.
