Position Overview

"Navitas Healthcare, LLC" is seeking an experienced Behavioral Health Registered Nurse (RN) for a travel assignment in Binghamton, New York. This role involves providing direct patient care within an inpatient psychiatric setting while collaborating with a multidisciplinary mental health team to support positive patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

• Administer medications and monitor patient responses.
• Perform comprehensive nursing assessments and document findings accurately.
• Complete shift notes, patient progress updates, and required behavioral health documentation.
• Participate in therapeutic patient engagement and milieu management activities.
• Collaborate with Mental Health Therapy Aides and interdisciplinary healthcare teams.
• Monitor patient behavior and maintain a safe, structured treatment environment.
• Respond to changes in patient condition and escalate concerns appropriately.
• Serve as Charge RN when assigned and assist with unit operations.
• Maintain compliance with facility policies, nursing standards, and documentation requirements.

Required Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) License.
• Previous Behavioral Health/Psychiatric Nursing Experience required.
• Strong medication administration and patient assessment skills.
• Experience caring for psychiatric patient populations.
• Excellent communication, documentation, and critical thinking skills.
• Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary healthcare team.

Preferred Qualifications

• Inpatient Psychiatric Nursing experience.
• Charge RN or leadership experience.
• Experience working in structured therapeutic environments.
• Experience managing high patient volumes in behavioral health settings.
