Registered Nurse (RN) – Clinical / Correctional Health Services

Location: Phoenix, AZ 85027
Schedule: Thursday – Saturday | 5:00 AM – 1:00 PM
Hours: 30–38 hours per week
Employment Type: Contract / Part-Time


Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Registered Nurse (RN) to provide comprehensive healthcare services within a correctional healthcare setting for youth.

The RN will play a critical role in delivering direct patient care, conducting health assessments, administering medications, responding to emergencies, and coordinating care to ensure the health and safety of both residents and staff.


Key Responsibilities

  • Assess and respond to youth health concerns with appropriate nursing interventions
  • Conduct intake health screenings for newly admitted residents
  • Administer prescribed medications and monitor for adverse reactions
  • Collect and process laboratory specimens (blood, urine, etc.)
  • Monitor, document, and report vital signs and changes in patient condition
  • Provide direct patient care and emergency medical response as needed
  • Educate youth on health conditions, treatments, and procedures
  • Coordinate care with healthcare providers and obtain medical records when necessary
  • Maintain accurate and compliant medical documentation and health records
  • Administer vaccinations and assist with annual Tuberculosis (TB) testing programs
  • Ensure proper inventory, storage, and maintenance of medical supplies and equipment
  • Perform additional duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Arizona
  • Minimum 1 year of RN experience
  • Ability to independently assess, analyze, and respond to medical situations

Qualifications & Skills

  • Strong knowledge of nursing practices, patient care, and clinical procedures
  • Ability to observe, assess, and document patient behavior and health status
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to respond quickly and effectively in emergency situations
  • Strong collaboration skills with healthcare teams and facility staff

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in correctional healthcare
  • Experience working with adolescents, behavioral health, or underserved populations
