Job Title: Software Engineering Applications Administrator – BFSI
Location: Greater Toronto Area (GTA), Canada

Prior experience in Banking or regulated BFSI environments is non-negotiable


Position Overview

We are seeking a skilled Software Engineering Applications Administrator to support and manage development toolchains and engineering platforms within a Banking / Financial Services (BFSI) environment. This role is responsible for ensuring the availability, performance, and governance of software engineering tools used across the SDLC.

The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience administering development platforms, strong troubleshooting skills, and an understanding of governance, security, and compliance in regulated environments.


Key Responsibilities

Toolchain Administration

  • Administer and support software engineering tools such as source control systems, CI/CD platforms, artifact repositories, and code quality tools
  • Manage platforms such as Git, Jenkins, Bitbucket/GitHub, Nexus/Artifactory, and related tooling
  • Ensure tool availability, performance, and scalability

Environment & Release Support

  • Support development, testing, and production environments for engineering tools
  • Assist with build, deployment, and release management processes
  • Maintain system configurations and ensure consistency across environments

Governance & Compliance

  • Enforce governance controls across engineering platforms, including access management and audit logging
  • Ensure compliance with BFSI regulatory and security requirements
  • Support audit remediation efforts and maintain required documentation

Incident & Problem Management

  • Troubleshoot issues across development toolchains and resolve incidents in a timely manner
  • Conduct root cause analysis and implement preventive measures
  • Collaborate with infrastructure and development teams for issue resolution

Automation & Optimization

  • Develop and maintain automation scripts for system administration and process improvements
  • Optimize CI/CD pipelines and tool configurations for efficiency and reliability
  • Identify opportunities for continuous improvement

Documentation & Reporting

  • Maintain operational documentation, runbooks, and standard procedures
  • Provide reporting on system health, usage metrics, and compliance status
  • Support audit requests and evidence collection

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in application administration, DevOps, or engineering tool support
  • Mandatory experience within Banking or regulated Financial Services environments
  • Strong experience with CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI)
  • Hands-on experience with source control systems (Git-based platforms)
  • Experience with artifact repositories (e.g., Nexus, Artifactory)
  • Familiarity with Linux/Unix and/or Windows environments
  • Basic scripting skills (Shell, PowerShell, or Python)
  • Strong understanding of SDLC processes and DevOps practices

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with monitoring tools (e.g., Splunk, Dynatrace)
  • Knowledge of containerization (Docker, Kubernetes)
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
  • Understanding of ITIL processes
  • Experience supporting audit and compliance initiatives
