Title: Nursing Director - Inpatient Care
Location: York, ME
Duration: 13 weeks
Shift: Monday through Friday
Weekly Gross: Up to $3400/week (Based on experience)

Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced Nursing Director to provide leadership and operational oversight for Inpatient Services, including:

• Medical/Surgical Units
• Intensive Care Unit (ICU)

The Nursing Director is responsible for ensuring excellence in patient care, nursing quality, patient safety, staffing, operational performance, and regulatory compliance. This role assumes 24-hour accountability for departmental operations and collaborates closely with physicians, nursing leadership, and interdisciplinary teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide strategic and operational leadership for inpatient nursing services
• Oversee Medical/Surgical and ICU nursing operations
• Ensure delivery of safe, high-quality patient care
• Manage staffing, scheduling, and workforce planning
• Support quality improvement and patient safety initiatives
• Oversee departmental budgets and resource utilization
• Collaborate with physicians and hospital leadership
• Develop and implement policies, procedures, and best practices
• Ensure compliance with regulatory and accreditation standards
• Promote patient- and family-centered care
• Mentor, coach, and develop nursing staff and leaders

Requirements

Education

• Graduate of an Accredited School of Nursing
• Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN) Required
• Master's Degree in Nursing (MSN) Preferred

Licensure

• Active Maine RN License Required
  OR
• Active Compact RN License
• License must be in good standing with the Board of Nursing

Certifications

• BLS (AHA) Required
• ACLS Required
• Specialty Certification Preferred
• Leadership Certification Preferred

Experience

• Previous Nursing Leadership experience strongly preferred
• Experience managing inpatient nursing services preferred
• Med/Surg and/or ICU leadership experience highly desirable
