Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT)

Location: Hackensack, NJ

Position Overview:
Seeking an experienced Registered Respiratory Therapist to provide comprehensive respiratory care services in an acute care hospital environment. The ideal candidate will have ICU experience, ventilator management expertise, and the ability to work effectively with critically ill patients across multiple care settings.

Assignment Details:

  • 13-Week Contract
  • Night Shift: 6:45 PM – 7:15 AM
  • Schedule: 3 x 12-hour shifts (36 hours/week)
  • Every other weekend required
  • Holiday coverage required
  • Floating required to:
    • Adult ICU
    • Intermediate Care Units
    • Basic Intermediate Care Floors

Required Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Graduate of an Accredited Respiratory Therapy Program
  • Minimum 1 year of recent Registered Respiratory Therapist experience
  • Minimum 1 year of ICU experience
  • Previous ventilator management experience

Required Certifications & Licensure:

  • Active New Jersey Respiratory Care License
  • NBRC Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) Certification
  • BLS (AHA)
  • ACLS (AHA)
  • PALS (AHA)

Required Clinical Skills:

  • Respiratory Assessment and Therapy
  • Mechanical Ventilator Setup and Management
  • Intubation Assistance
  • Oxygen Therapy
  • Airway Management
  • Critical Care Respiratory Support
  • Cardiopulmonary Patient Care
  • Patient and Caregiver Education
  • Diagnostic Evaluation and Monitoring

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide respiratory therapy services under medical direction
  • Assess, treat, and monitor patients with cardiopulmonary conditions
  • Assist with intubations and advanced airway procedures
  • Manage and troubleshoot ventilators and respiratory support equipment
  • Educate patients and caregivers regarding respiratory conditions and treatment plans
  • Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and interdisciplinary healthcare teams
  • Maintain accurate clinical documentation
