Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) – Med/Surg (Telemetry)

Location: Syracuse, NY 13210
Job Type: Travel Assignment | 12 Weeks
Shift: Night Shift | 12-Hour Shifts
Schedule: 36 Hours/Week | 3 Days/Week

We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) – Med/Surg (Telemetry) for a travel opportunity at a large acute care hospital. The ideal candidate will have strong medical-surgical nursing skills, telemetry monitoring experience, and the ability to deliver high-quality patient care in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to adult Med/Surg telemetry patients
• Monitor and interpret telemetry rhythms and report abnormalities
• Perform patient assessments and develop individualized care plans
• Administer medications and treatments per physician orders
• Start IVs and maintain intravenous therapy
• Collect blood specimens and perform lab-related procedures
• Collaborate with physicians and multidisciplinary teams
• Document patient care using EPIC EMR
• Respond to changes in patient condition and emergencies
• Educate patients and families regarding care and discharge planning
• Follow hospital safety, infection control, and compliance standards

Requirements:

• Minimum 1.5 years of recent Med/Surg experience within the last 2 years
• Acute care hospital experience required
• Strong telemetry monitoring and rhythm interpretation skills
• Experience starting IVs and drawing blood specimens
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
• Excellent communication and patient care skills
• Must be legally eligible to work in the United States

Preferred:
• Level 1 Trauma experience
• Level 2 Trauma experience
• EPIC EMR experience

Required Certifications & Licenses:
• Active New York State RN License
• BLS Certification (AHA)
• Telemetry Monitoring Competency
• IV Therapy Skills
