Title: LPN – Medical Surgical
Location: Rochester, New York
Duration: 13 Weeks (High possibility of extension)
Schedule: Night Shift | 3x12-Hour Shifts
Shift Timing: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
Weekend Requirement: Every Other Weekend
Position Overview:
"Navitas Healthcare, LLC" is seeking an experienced LPN – Medical Surgical to provide patient-centered care in an acute care Med/Surg setting. The LPN will work under the supervision of an RN while managing assigned patients, administering medications, monitoring patient conditions, and supporting the interdisciplinary healthcare team.
Primary Responsibilities:
Provide direct patient care in a Medical Surgical environment
Perform vital signs, pain assessments, and intake/output monitoring
Administer medications including oral, IM, SQ, NG/G-tube, ear and eye drops
Monitor blood glucose levels and assist with IV therapy using infusion pumps
Provide oxygen administration via nasal cannula
Perform Foley catheter insertion and specimen collection
Assist with wound care, dressing changes, and drain management
Monitor telemetry and perform 12-lead EKGs
Maintain infection control and isolation precautions
Communicate patient status changes to RN and physicians
Document patient care accurately using EPIC EMR
Float to other appropriate units as needed
Required Qualifications:
Active New York State LPN License
BLS Certification required
Minimum 1 year of recent Acute Care Medical Surgical experience within the last 2 years
Ability to independently manage patient assignments with RN support
EPIC EMR experience required
Strong clinical assessment and communication skills
Preferred Qualifications:
Medical Surgical / Telemetry experience
Experience working in acute care hospital settings
