Job Title: LPN / LVN – Correctional Nursing
Location: Rome, NY
Contract Duration: 26–52 Weeks
Position Overview:
"Navitas Healthcare, LLC" is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to provide healthcare services within a correctional facility setting. The LPN will work under the supervision of a Registered Nurse and be responsible for medication administration, health screenings, patient assessments, emergency response, and clinical documentation while maintaining compliance with correctional healthcare standards and facility security protocols.
Key Responsibilities:
Administer medications, including controlled substances, and monitor compliance
Take vital signs and perform patient assessments
Conduct health screenings and monitor inmate health conditions
Provide wound care and basic nursing treatments
Respond to medical emergencies within the facility
Maintain accurate patient records and documentation
Monitor changes in patient conditions and report findings to healthcare providers
Follow correctional healthcare policies and security procedures
Collaborate with healthcare staff to ensure quality patient care
Maintain a safe and professional clinical environment
Requirements:
Active New York State LPN License (or valid limited permit)
Experience in medical-surgical, ambulatory care, correctional health, or mental health preferred
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to remain calm and professional during emergencies
Comfortable working with a diverse patient population
Ability to comply with all correctional facility regulations and security procedures

Candidates must complete and clear the state criminal history process prior to start
Criminal history clearance may take up to 4 weeks
