Job Title: Quality Control Technician – Sterile Processing
Location: Long Beach, CA
Duration: 14 Weeks
Schedule: Full-Time | 5x8 Hour Shifts
Hours: 40 Hours per Week
We are seeking a detail-oriented Quality Control Technician to support sterile processing operations and ensure the highest standards of instrument cleanliness, assembly accuracy, and sterilization quality. This role combines hands-on sterile processing responsibilities with quality assurance oversight to support patient safety and regulatory compliance.
Responsibilities:
• Perform decontamination, cleaning, inspection, assembly, and sterilization of surgical instruments and medical equipment
• Follow ANSI/AAMI standards, manufacturer IFUs, SOPs, and facility work instructions
• Inspect instruments and trays for cleanliness, functionality, completeness, and damage prior to sterilization
• Assemble and package surgical instrument trays and sets according to established guidelines
• Operate sterilizers, autoclaves, washer disinfectors, and related sterile processing equipment
• Maintain accurate documentation of sterilization cycles, biological testing, instrument tracking, and inventory records
• Identify, document, and report damaged or missing instruments in accordance with quality standards
• Monitor inventory levels and coordinate supply replenishment as needed
• Perform routine maintenance and quality checks on sterilization equipment
• Ensure compliance with infection prevention, quality assurance, and patient safety standards
• Maintain clean, organized, and compliant workstations and decontamination areas
• Collaborate with sterile processing, operations, and distribution teams to ensure workflow efficiency
• Participate in ongoing training, competency assessments, and continuous improvement initiatives
Requirements:
• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Certification in Sterile Processing (CRCST, CIS, or equivalent)
• Minimum 2 years of hands-on sterile processing experience
• Strong knowledge of decontamination, assembly, sterilization, and infection control procedures
• Familiarity with ANSI/AAMI standards and manufacturer IFUs
• Experience operating autoclaves, sterilizers, washer disinfectors, and related equipment
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality assurance
• Basic computer proficiency and experience with electronic tracking systems
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
