Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) – Wound Care

Location: New York, NY
Schedule: Day Shift | 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM | 4 Shifts per Week | Every Other Weekend
Hours: 40 Hours per Week
Duration: 06/22/2026 – 09/26/2026

We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse – Wound Care to provide specialized wound, ostomy, and continence care services in a hospital setting in New York, New York. The RN will perform comprehensive patient assessments, develop individualized care plans, provide education, and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure high-quality patient outcomes.

This opportunity offers strong extension potential and the possibility of permanent placement.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct health assessment interviews focused on wound, ostomy, and continence care

  • Perform focused physical assessments and develop individualized care plans

  • Assess and document patient responses to wound care treatments and interventions

  • Recommend medications, treatments, supplies, technology, and equipment as appropriate

  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams and initiate referrals when needed

  • Provide patient, family, and staff education related to wound and ostomy management

  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and nursing quality programs

  • Initiate preventative measures for patients at risk for pressure injuries

  • Assist with staff orientation, in-service training, and continuing education programs

  • Manage specialty equipment including specialty beds and negative pressure devices

  • Maintain patient confidentiality and ensure compliance with patient rights policies

  • Escalate clinical concerns appropriately and support conflict resolution when necessary

Requirements

  • Associate Degree in Nursing (ASN/ADN) required

  • Active New York State RN License required

  • AHA BLS Certification required

  • Current certification in CWOCN, CWON, CWCN, CWS, or WCC required

  • Minimum two years of Med/Surg nursing experience required

  • Previous wound care and colostomy care experience required

  • Strong patient assessment and care planning skills

  • Experience in patient and staff education preferred

  • Excellent communication, clinical judgment, and documentation skills
