Job Title: LMSW – Travel Social Worker

Location: Everett, WA
Duration: 12 Weeks
Schedule: Day Shift – 5x8 Hours (7:30 AM – 4:00 PM)
Guaranteed Hours: 72 Hours Per 2-Week Pay Period

Compensation:

  • Traveler Pay: $50–$53/hr ($1,875–$1,987/week) based on experience

Position Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Licensed Medical Social Worker (LMSW) to support care coordination and discharge planning services within an acute care hospital environment. The ideal candidate will have strong case management experience across multiple patient populations and the ability to collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to ensure safe and efficient patient care transitions.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide social work and care coordination services for hospitalized patients
  • Conduct psychosocial assessments and develop discharge planning strategies
  • Collaborate with physicians, nurses, case managers, and interdisciplinary healthcare teams
  • Coordinate patient discharge plans, community resources, and post-acute care services
  • Support patients and families through education, counseling, and resource navigation
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation within the electronic medical record
  • Assist with complex discharge planning and length-of-stay management
  • Float between hospital departments and campuses as needed
  • Ensure compliance with patient confidentiality, hospital policies, and regulatory standards
  • Deliver compassionate, patient-centered support in a fast-paced acute care environment

Required Qualifications:

Licensure & Certifications:

  • Active Washington State Licensure required
  • Current BLS Certification required

Experience:

  • Minimum 1 year of acute care experience required
  • Discharge Planning and Care Coordination experience required
  • Strong preference for diverse Case Management experience including:
    • Med Surg
    • Long Length of Stay (LLOS)
    • Emergency Department (ED)

Skills & Competencies:

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to manage complex patient cases and discharge needs
  • Excellent organizational and documentation skills
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary teams
  • Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities
  • Compassionate and patient-focused approach to care

Additional Requirements:

  • Every other weekend required
  • Traveler will float between hospital units and nearby campuses as needed
  • First-time travelers accepted
  • Local candidates not accepted
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced acute care hospital environment
