Job Title: Licensed Practical Nurse – Geriatric Care
Location: Tucson, Arizona
Duration: 16 Weeks
Schedule: 12-Hour Day Shifts (6:00 AM – 6:30 PM)
Hours: Rotating Schedule – Week 1: 36 Hours | Week 2: 48 Hours

Compensation

  • Pay Rate: $38/hr

Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to provide high-quality geriatric nursing care in a long-term care environment. The LPN will deliver resident-focused care, administer medications and treatments, monitor patient conditions, and support interdisciplinary care planning while maintaining a safe and therapeutic environment.

The ideal candidate will possess strong clinical judgment, excellent communication skills, and the ability to supervise support staff while collaborating closely with RNs, physicians, and the healthcare team.

Responsibilities

  • Administer medications and treatments as prescribed within scope of practice
  • Monitor, assess, and document resident conditions and responses to treatment
  • Report significant changes in resident status to supervising RN or physician
  • Assist with admissions, resident assessments, and implementation of individualized care plans
  • Provide direct patient care and assist with activities of daily living (ADLs)
  • Supervise CNAs and assist with staff orientation and training
  • Participate in shift reports, staff meetings, and interdisciplinary communication
  • Maintain accurate clinical documentation and resident records
  • Support infection control, safety initiatives, and quality improvement activities
  • Respond appropriately during emergency situations
  • Ensure compliance with facility policies, state regulations, and nursing standards

Required Qualifications

Education

  • Graduate of an accredited Licensed Practical Nursing (LPN) program

Certifications & Licensure

  • Active LPN License required
  • Current CPR/BLS Certification required

Required Skills & Experience

  • Previous geriatric or long-term care experience preferred
  • Strong clinical, communication, and teamwork skills
  • Ability to supervise support staff effectively
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced healthcare environment
  • Weekend availability required
  • Ability to follow rotating block scheduling requirements

Schedule Requirements

  • 12-hour shifts: 6:00 AM – 6:30 PM
  • Weekend coverage required
  • Rotating schedule:
    • Week 1: 36 hours
    • Week 2: 48 hours
