Echo Tech / Cardiac Sonographer

Schedule: Day Shift – 5x8-Hour Shifts
Shift Hours: 8:30 AM – 4:30 PM
Contract Duration: 8 Weeks

Position Overview

We are seeking a skilled Echo Tech / Cardiac Sonographer for a short-term hospital assignment in New York, NY. This opportunity is ideal for a motivated cardiac imaging professional with strong echocardiography experience and excellent patient care skills.

This is a 1199 Union assignment covering a leave of absence, offering a consistent weekday schedule with rotating Saturdays and no holiday requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform high-quality echocardiograms and cardiac ultrasound procedures
• Obtain accurate diagnostic images for physician interpretation
• Operate and maintain echocardiography equipment
• Prepare patients for procedures and explain exam processes
• Maintain accurate patient documentation and imaging records
• Ensure compliance with departmental quality and safety standards
• Collaborate with cardiologists and healthcare teams to support patient care
• Deliver compassionate and professional patient interactions

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED required
• Registered Cardiac Sonographer certification required
• ARDMS or CCI certification in appropriate specialty required
• Current BLS Certification required
• Minimum 1 year of Diagnostic Ultrasound experience preferred
• Strong knowledge of cardiac imaging procedures and protocols

Preferred Qualifications

• 2 years of college education preferred
• Prior hospital-based echocardiography experience
• Excellent communication and patient care skills
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
