Registered Nurse (RN) – Labor & Delivery

Location: Santa Rosa, California
Shift: Night Shift – 3x12-Hour Shifts
Schedule: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
Contract Duration: 13 Weeks

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Labor & Delivery Registered Nurse (RN) for a high-acuity acute care hospital assignment in Santa Rosa, California. This role is ideal for a compassionate and clinically strong RN with recent Labor & Delivery and Postpartum experience who thrives in a fast-paced maternal-child healthcare environment.

The ideal candidate will possess excellent obstetric nursing skills, strong fetal monitoring knowledge, and the ability to provide exceptional patient-centered care throughout labor, delivery, recovery, and postpartum support.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care to Labor & Delivery patients
• Monitor maternal and fetal wellbeing throughout labor and delivery
• Support vaginal and cesarean deliveries
• Provide postpartum nursing care and patient education
• Administer medications and treatments according to physician orders
• Collaborate with obstetricians, neonatal teams, anesthesiologists, and interdisciplinary staff
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation within the EMR system
• Support patient safety, newborn care, and family-centered care practices
• Float to similar maternal-child units as needed based on facility requirements

Requirements

• Active RN License required
• Minimum 2 years of recent Labor & Delivery experience required
• Recent Postpartum experience required (hard-stop requirement)
• Current BLS Certification required
• Current ACLS Certification required
• Current NRP Certification required
• Current AWHONN Intermediate Certification required
• AWHONN Advanced Certification preferred
• Strong fetal monitoring and obstetric emergency response skills required
• Epic EMR experience preferred
