Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced Director of Surgical Services to provide strategic and operational leadership within a high-performing healthcare environment.

This role is responsible for delivering high-quality, patient-centered care by overseeing clinical operations, staffing, financial performance, and service excellence across surgical services. The ideal candidate will drive clinical quality, operational efficiency, and team engagement while ensuring compliance with all regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities

Quality & Clinical Operations

• Implement evidence-based practices to enhance patient safety and clinical outcomes
• Ensure compliance with regulatory, accreditation, and clinical standards
• Optimize clinical workflows and reduce practice variation
• Oversee equipment readiness and regulatory compliance
• Improve patient throughput and flow coordination
• Develop and maintain clinical policies, procedures, and nursing standards
• Promote interdisciplinary collaboration across departments

Service Excellence

• Lead initiatives to improve patient satisfaction and experience
• Utilize feedback to identify and implement service improvements
• Align service delivery with organizational goals and standards
• Ensure adherence to customer service best practices

Leadership & People Management

• Foster a culture aligned with organizational mission and values
• Drive employee engagement, retention, and recognition
• Provide coaching, mentoring, and professional development
• Lead recruitment and retention of top talent

Growth & Strategic Development

• Partner with physicians and leadership to expand service lines
• Identify opportunities for innovation and growth
• Support adoption of advanced technologies and clinical programs

Financial Management

• Participate in budgeting and financial forecasting
• Monitor departmental performance and productivity metrics
• Manage staffing, scheduling, and labor utilization
• Identify cost optimization opportunities while maintaining care quality

Additional Responsibilities

• Perform other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

Education

• Bachelor’s Degree required
• Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN) required
• Master’s Degree preferred

Experience

• 1+ years of recent leadership experience in Surgical Services required
• Director-level or strong managerial experience preferred
• 3+ years of clinical experience in Surgical Services required
