Job Title: Sterile Processing Technician

Location: Long Beach, California

Contract Duration: 14 Weeks

Schedule:

  • Day Shift – 5x8 Hours
  • 40 Hours per Week

Position Overview

"Navitas Healthcare, LLC" is seeking an experienced Sterile Processing Technician for a contract assignment in Long Beach, California. The technician will be responsible for ensuring the proper decontamination, sterilization, assembly, and maintenance of surgical instruments and equipment in accordance with infection control standards and hospital protocols.

This role is critical in supporting surgical teams by ensuring all instruments are safe, functional, and properly prepared for procedures.

Key Responsibilities

  • Decontaminate used surgical instruments and equipment using approved PPE and safety protocols
  • Disassemble, clean, and reassemble surgical instruments and trays
  • Assemble, package, and prepare instrument sets for sterilization
  • Operate sterilizers, washers, and related processing equipment
  • Inspect instruments for cleanliness, damage, and functionality
  • Maintain accurate sterilization logs and tracking documentation
  • Monitor inventory of surgical instruments and supplies
  • Follow ANSI/AAMI standards and manufacturer Instructions for Use (IFUs)
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of sterile processing areas
  • Support quality assurance and infection control compliance
  • Collaborate with surgical and central supply teams to ensure workflow efficiency

Requirements

  • Minimum 1 year of sterile processing experience required
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • CRCST, CIS, or equivalent certification required
  • Strong knowledge of surgical instruments and sterilization processes
  • Familiarity with autoclaves, washer disinfectors, and decontamination systems
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Basic computer and documentation skills required
  • Strong communication and teamwork abilities
