Position Overview

"Navitas Healthcare, LLC" is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse – Medical/Surgical Step-Down RN for a night shift assignment in an acute care hospital setting in Rome, NY. The RN will provide high-quality nursing care to adult and geriatric patients requiring close monitoring in a telemetry/step-down environment.

This role is ideal for nurses experienced in step-down, telemetry, or acute medical-surgical care who are comfortable managing higher-acuity patients in a fast-paced hospital setting.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care to adult and geriatric step-down patients
• Monitor telemetry readings, patient status, and vital signs
• Assess and respond promptly to changes in patient condition
• Administer medications and treatments as ordered
• Care for post-ICU and higher-acuity medical/surgical patients
• Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary healthcare teams
• Maintain accurate EMR documentation using Paragon and Pyxis systems
• Ensure compliance with patient safety, infection control, and hospital protocols
• Support coordinated discharge planning and continuity of care

Required Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license required
• New York RN License or Compact eligibility preferred
• BLS certification required
• ACLS certification required
• NIHSS certification required
• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN/ASN) or higher required
• Graduation from an accredited nursing program required
