Position Title: Physical Therapist – Acute Care Hospital
Location: Lubbock, TX 79410
Employment Type: Travel / Contract
Duration: 13 Weeks (high possibility of extension or permanent placement)
Shift: Day Shift
Schedule: 5x8 Hours (08:00 AM – 05:00 PM)
Hours: 40 hours per week guaranteed
Start Date: 06/01/2026

Job Summary:
Provide acute care physical therapy services including evaluation, treatment, mobility training, and rehabilitation for patients with orthopedic and neurologic conditions in a hospital setting.

Responsibilities:

• Perform physical therapy evaluations and patient assessments
• Develop individualized treatment and rehabilitation plans
• Provide gait training and mobility assistance
• Deliver therapeutic exercises for recovery and strength
• Treat post-op orthopedic and neurologic conditions
• Educate patients and families on recovery and home exercise programs
• Document all care and treatment plans in EPIC EMR
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams

Requirements:

• Minimum 1 year acute care Physical Therapy experience required
• Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapy program required
• Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) preferred
• Active Texas PT license or compact license required
• BLS certification required
• EPIC experience required
• Strong skills in gait training, mobility, and patient assessment
• Experience with stroke, spinal cord injury, Parkinson’s, and orthopedic rehab preferred
• First-time travelers accepted

• No weekends, call, or block scheduling required
• Facility: Short Term Acute Care Hospital (379 beds, Level II Trauma Center)
• Patient population: Adolescents, Adults, Geriatrics
• Free parking available
