Registered Nurse – Cardiovascular Critical Care (CTICU)

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Cardiovascular Critical Care Registered Nurse for a Cardiothoracic Intensive Care Unit (CTICU) assignment. The ideal candidate will have strong critical care experience, including the management of fresh heart patients, and the ability to thrive in a high-acuity ICU environment.

This role is best suited for experienced travel nurses with a strong background in cardiovascular and post-surgical critical care.

Assignment Details

• Shift: 12-Hour Nights
• Unit: Cardiothoracic Intensive Care Unit (CTICU)

Unit Information

• Number of Beds: 6
• Common Diagnoses:
  • Cardiovascular Surgery patients
  • Cardiogenic Shock
  • Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm (AAA)

Key Responsibilities

• Provide critical care nursing to post-operative cardiothoracic patients
• Manage fresh heart recovery patients in the CTICU setting
• Monitor hemodynamic status and respond to rapid clinical changes
• Administer medications, drips, and treatments according to physician orders
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary ICU and surgical teams
• Maintain accurate and timely patient documentation in Epic
• Provide patient and family education and support during critical care treatment

Requirements

Experience

• Minimum 2 years of CTICU or cardiovascular critical care experience required
• Experience with fresh heart patients is required
• Previous travel nursing experience required
• Epic EMR experience required

Certifications

• ACLS required
• BLS required
• NIHSS required
