Job Title: Respiratory Therapist
Location: Syracuse, NY 13210
Assignment Length: 13 Weeks
Shift: Day Shift | 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM
Schedule: 3x12-Hour Shifts | 36 Hours/Week

Compensation:

• Competitive weekly pay package based on experience

Position Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Respiratory Therapist to provide high-quality cardiopulmonary care in an acute care environment. The ideal candidate will have strong clinical respiratory therapy skills, acute care experience, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced healthcare setting.

Responsibilities:

• Administer positive pressure and aerosol therapies to patients
• Initiate, monitor, and manage oxygen therapy treatments
• Assist physicians with initiation and maintenance of continuous mechanical ventilation
• Perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and emergency respiratory interventions
• Conduct pulmonary function testing and respiratory assessments
• Perform radial arterial punctures and collect arterial blood gas samples
• Monitor patient respiratory status and respond to changes in condition
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and interdisciplinary healthcare teams
• Maintain accurate patient documentation and comply with facility protocols
• Deliver patient care independently with minimal supervision in an acute care setting

Qualifications & Requirements:

• Associate degree in Respiratory Therapy required
• Active New York State Respiratory Therapist License/Registration required
• Minimum 2 years of recent acute care Respiratory Therapy experience required
• Pediatric respiratory care experience preferred
• Strong interpersonal, communication, and critical thinking skills
• Ability to work effectively in a high-acuity healthcare environment
• Must successfully complete pre-employment health clearance requirements
