Interventional Radiology Technologist - IRTAP

Position Title: Interventional Radiology Technologist
Location: Columbia, MO
Employment Type: Contract / Travel
Duration: 12 Weeks
Shift: Monday – Friday | 7:30 AM – 4:00 PM
On-Call: Required (Weeknights & Weekends)

Job Summary:
Support physicians in minimally invasive image-guided procedures, including Neuro IR and GI embolization cases, while ensuring patient safety, sterile technique, and high-quality imaging support in both routine and emergency settings.

Responsibilities:

• Assist in interventional radiology procedures (routine and emergency)
• Maintain sterile field and infection control protocols
• Review patient history, imaging orders, allergies, and NPO status
• Educate patients on procedure, risks, and post-care instructions
• Operate imaging equipment for high-quality diagnostic guidance
• Administer contrast under radiologist supervision (if applicable)
• Monitor patient vitals and respond to adverse reactions
• Manage procedural supplies, medications, and equipment readiness
• Maintain documentation in EMR and PACS systems
• Follow radiation safety and ALARA standards
• Collaborate with radiologists, nurses, and care teams
• Provide BLS-level emergency support when needed

Requirements:

• Minimum 2 years Interventional Radiology experience required
• Required experience in Neuro IR and GI embolization
• ARRT (R) required OR advanced certification (VI, CV, CI) or RCIS
• Strong sterile technique and radiation safety knowledge
• Experience in high-acuity procedural environments required
• Ability to work in emergency and fast-paced settings

Preferred:

• Advanced vascular and neurointerventional experience
• Strong EMR and PACS documentation skills
• Excellent patient communication skills
